Argent has successfully carried out another drop in replacement refrigeration gas for another client and have saved the need to replace their large chillers now that the use of R22 refrigerant is rapidly coming to an end with its use being stopped at the end of 2009. The industry has had 10 years to prepare for this and now it has caught out a number of organisations .
We have had a number of outstanding successes where we have introduce the drop in of R422d where the performance has been as good or better.
We are carrying out many more with some requiring more engineering input to find an acceptable solution to the problem.
The one thing that the building owner must not do is not identify where he has R22 refrigeration installed on his premises and to make sure that he has identified what he has and how it will be managed and maintained.
The regulations changed in 2000 but we have had time to bring in the changes and now we have the ban on virgin HCFCs use from 1st January 2010 and therefore action should be taken.
Argent have during the past year we have been able to carry out the surveys and also install replace refrigerant without the need for new machines having to be installed.
If Chiller are beyond economical repair we can also supply and install new up to date units.
With smaller split unit we can deal with these without any difficulties.
